VICIOUS CIRCLE

The 4 man collective known as Vicious Circle began in a flat in South London almost 4 years ago. Born out of a mutual love of all things Drum n Bass and with a wide range of influences ranging from Detroit techno to Motown, this exciting new crew have entered the scene with a bang and intend to continue rocking dance floors with their no holds barred style of deep dark future funk.

Inspired by the futuristic techy styles of the late 90s coming from the likes of Bad Company, Konflict and the Virus/Prototype camps, Vicious Circle set about crafting there own distinct sound and networking with artists worldwide. Arriving at the Miami Winter Music Conference in March 04 armed with a handful of cds, the crew were pleasantly surprised to find their early work getting heavy Dj support from some of the scenes biggest names like Pendulum, Technical Itch and Keaton. Upon returning to the UK it was clear that now was the time to take the next step..

The big break came when Universal Project, impressed with what they were hearing, offered the team their choice of remix from the UP back catalogue. Underground anthem Jackhammer originally released on Loxys Cylon imprint was their choice and the results were devastating! So much so in fact that legendary label Renegade Hardware were soon calling and before long Vicious Circles remix was signed to Hardware as part of UPs Black Techno EP. Heavy support followed across the scene from the likes of Friction, Pendulum, Loxy, Baron, Raiden, Dieselboy and many more Djs worldwide and by the time the EP was released in October 2004 other labels were looking towards VCs remix talents as well as showing interest in the groups original material.

Promoters were also starting to take note. Residencies at nights such as Repercussion and Ambush and bookings at high profile events like Anger Managements Therapy Sessions in October 04 meant sharing flyer space with some of the biggest names in Drum n Bass. A Vicious Circle Dj set is a blend of the most cutting edge dubs from all over the world combined with years of Dj experience and is not to be missed.

So after a successful year, 2006 looks set to be a big one for the Circle, kicking off with an appearance in ATM magazine and with forthcoming tracks from the camp to include Vapour Trail on Rymetymes 1210 imprint, Apparition (Feat EBK) on Kryptic Minds and Leon Switchs Defcom label and collaborations in the works with Kontrol, Universal Project, Rymetyme and Noisia. Also in the pipeline are remixes for Baron and Philadelphias Kaos/Karl K and Jae Kennedy

With plans to hit the studio hard, affiliations in place with some very strong labels as well as a US and European tour planned later in the year, Vicious Circle look set to become an important part of the Drum n Bass movement.
