SYZE AKA JOANNA

DJ Syze began spinning in 1999. Over six years in the making Syze has come a long way from the underground days of drum and bass. Playing all over the US and Europe in such clubs as Transit in Atlanta, Adrenaline in California to Onset in Seattle. With the release of her CD Stepping Razor Vol. 1 in 2003 Minty Magazine reviewed it as:
Seattle's own DJ Syze serves up a crispy mix CD that eases you into the darker element of drum and bass. The title track sets off the mix well and shows her deep understanding of the music she plays. She never loses sight of the emotional side of the music, making this CD, like her sets at clubs and parties, a pleasure to listen to.
Most of the time you can find her these days running Bassline Agency representing some of the top US and World DnB artists such as Evol Intent, Kryptic Minds, TZA, Ewun , Mayhem, Psidream , Counterstrike , Vector Burn and Spl to just to name a few on the list. As well as being a vocalist in drum and bass and downtemp/idm music you can check out some of her recent work for Kryptic Minds and Leon Switch on Defcom Rec UK the much anticipated Black Out Vol 1 EP tune called NO Evil KM & LS feat Joanna B. and current work with the likes of Spor and T.Z.A and a bigger list of dnb and idm producers from around the globe. Syze has been involved with companies such as Savier Skate, Manik Skate, Drumz L.A just to name a few. On top of all this work she finds the time to throw her monthly Seattle shows Onset and Bassline with Cease from Cymbalism Recordings bringing some of the best in dnb headliners once a month to Seattle. Some of her accomplishments include running the only all ages DnB club in Seattle from jan 2000 - march 2001, a show on groovetech 2002, starting the first dnb show on major fm station c89.9 fm electrobox show 2001, 2002, first dnb dj to play the world armature skateboarding competition Sound And The Fury # 5. Aside from playing most every dnb show in Seattle to appearing on a number of publications the list goes on for this busy girl. 2006 find Syze with more work for Defcom alongside Kryptic Minds and Unknown Error, work for Barcode alongside T.Z.A and Spor and her a major focus on her dowtemp/idm album along side Sorse, A.M Architect, T.Z.A, Psidream, Spor and Knick.
